Aircraft advancements and aeronautical technology have profound impacts for a range of organisations attached to the travel industry. The Boeing Dreamliner represents the latest in flying technology. It is Boeing’s most fuel-efficient airliner and is a pioneering airliner with the use of composite materials as the primary material in the construction of its airframe. In passenger terms this means quieter, faster and more affordable air travel.
For Destination New South Wales (DNSW), such advancements mean an opportunity for increased inbound travel, tourist numbers and hotel stays.
When the first Dreamliner touched down at Sydney’s Kingsford Smith Airport, pm were on hand for DNSW to bring together the respective organisations; Air India, Sydney Airport, NSW Government and DNSW for a news conference event to broadcast the plane’s arrival, along with a renewed travel route for Air India.
The event included an internationally broadcast news conference, tarmac photo opportunities, air-side Airport tour and multiple one- on- one interviews with stakeholder dignitaries. The Air India route has now become one of DNSW most important inbound tourist routes.
